I wrote this book to push back against a new digital divide already taking shape, where AI’s benefits flow primarily to those who already possess technology advantage. While AI’s raw power is available to all, the knowledge of how to wield it effectively is not yet evenly distributed. My hope is that by making this learning journey more accessible, we can help ensure AI’s capabilities land in the hands of those working to propel progress in every field and community.

The path ahead isn’t entirely clear. We’ll face difficult questions about how to better align AI with human values. We’ll need to work through thorny challenges around equity, accountability, and control. There will be setbacks along the way. But I remain deeply optimistic that the more who understand this technology, the better equipped we will be as a society to shape it into a force that drives human flourishing—not with blind techno-optimism, but with clear-eyed determination to make it so.
